Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai: Municipality

Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) is today an example for other urban local bodies having successfully introduced several IT initiatives that focus on providing best-integrated civic services to its citizens. MCGM is the only urban municipality to have all 240-odd services available on the web with an e-payment gateway in place. Having already been awarded the Skoch Challenger Award, its nomination again only highlights the progress and leadership that MCGM has maintained in urban governance while other municipalities in the country lag behind by miles. MCGM understands the importance of institutionalisation of e-governance and the results are seen in the form of enhanced citizen satisfaction with improvement in services and better revenue mobilisation.
