Sachin Chuturvedi, apart from being a researcher, is an institution builder. His work focuses on promoting South-South Cooperation and to collaborate with developing countries in multilateral negotiations in various fora. Trade and innovation linkages with special focus on WTO, development economics, cooperation and investment are few areas that have benefitted immensely from his contributions. He took over in 2014 as Director General, Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) with a clear vision to strengthen and deepen the role of economic research from India on trade issues in international fraternity. He is a creator of networks and launched Network of Southern Think Tanks (NeST) and Forum for Indian Development Cooperation (FIDC). He also created "Delhi Process", a major forum for exchange of ideas on South-South Cooperation.
