Rohit Kumar: IT & Development
Microsoft India
Microsoft’s Project Shiksha tries to combine the spread of e-learning with upgrading the quality of the teachers. The project aims at developing the skills of not just 3.5 million students over five years but also plans to deliver IT literacy and skills development to 80,000 teachers across the country in special IT Academy Centres. So far, 50,000 teachers have already been trained and around fifty times that many students have received e-learning courses. Even the drop out rates are witnessing a decline.
