State of Uttaranchal: Education

The state is taking computer literacy and computer aided learning to all schools from 6th to 12th standard. Today 98 per cent of the schools have been covered under the programme. It has touched the lives of 5,54,000 secondary school students and is expected to touch 4,00,000 more this year. It is not just the quantity, the quality has improved too. The yearly results have gone up from 34 per cent to 45 per cent for tenth standard and 45 per cent to 60 per cent for 12th standard in places. Even the absenteeism in teachers has gone down and they are showing a renewed vigor.
